Hurricane Gustav dampens mood at GOP convention site

Los Angeles Times - Sept. 1, 2008

Welcome parties are subdued; some Gulf Coast delegates return home. Those from other states struggle with how to react. While expressing sympathy, many said the show must go on... .

I love it!

The men whose party and party leader, George W. Bush, short shifted the people of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina in 2005 are being forcefully reminded of their failures by a 2008 hurricane as they begin their lackluster and anticlimactic me too convention in Minneapolis.

Republicans have arrogantly ignored and denied the effects of their greedy and myopic policies on the natural world for eight long years, but today they must listen to the Earth Mother for a change.

May all of John McCain's plans for this week and the future be rained out.

There is a degree of poetic justice involved in Gustav's timing.
